ALI MOSAFFA started filmmaking with a number of short films, Incubus, The Neighbor and the documentary feature, The Deceit of Poesy. He then directed his first feature film in 2005, Portrait of a Lady Far Away, starring Leila Hatami and Homayoun Ershadi. The film was shortlisted for the Sutherland Trophy at The Times BFI London Film Festival and subsequently won the People's Choice Award at the Chicago International Film Festival and was nominated for the Crystal Globe at the 2005 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. His second film, The Last Step, starring Leila Hatami has received acclaim from critics and audiences worldwide following its international premiere at the 2012 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival where it won the international critics' FIPRESCI prize for best film and Leila Hatami was awarded with the Crystal Globe for the Best Actress for her leading role.

NUJOOM ALGHANEM

NUJOOM ALGHANEM is an Emirati poet, scriptwriter and multi- award-winning film director. She has produced ten films including four short fiction and non-fiction plus six feature length documentaries. Her last three documentaries have won several local, regional and international prizes. She is considered an active and well-established writer and filmmaker in the Arab world. She recently became a board member of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, which is managed in association with the Booker Prize Foundation in London.

MAJID BARZEGAR has won numerous awards including the Jury’s Special Mention Award of the 60th San Sebastian IFF in 2012 and also NETPAC Award at the 13th Asiatica Film Mediale, Rome in 2012 for his film Parviz and the Jury’s Special Mention Award of the 34th Sao Paulo IFF, 2010 for Rainy Seasons (2010). Rainy Seasons was also nominated for the Tiger Awards at the Rotterdam IFF in 2011. He has been also the president of the board of the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) since 2008. As a producer, Barzegar founded his Tehran-based company Dey Group Filmmaking on 1998 with the aim to develop and produce original, independent films that are in contrast to the mainstream Iranian cinema.
